Below is a marble headstone we recently restored for the former Mayor of Fredericton; Walter Brown. It is an example of a typical broken marble stone we see in many cemeteries. This one is located in Upper Queensbury, NB. It's base was completely deteriorated, while you can see the lower right hand corner of the stone was gone. We created a new reinforced concrete base with slot opening for the stone off site. When we got to the cemetery we removed the remnants of the old concrete base and dug down 8 inches and placed 0-3/4 crushed rock for drainage. We then set the new base in place, levelled it and put the bottom section of the stone in place after which we bonded the top section of the stone and then temporarily braced everything. We came back the next day removed the bracing and did a final cleaning of the marble stone.
